Model and actor Khalid Siddique says it was love at first sight when he first saw this 2BHK in Versova. Khalid, who started out as a model in the Cadbury Perk ads with Preity Zinta, is a known face in the ad world today.
He has many brands to his credit and has also worked in films like Jogger's Park and Ghajini. Hot Property took a trip to Khalid's home to find out about his home buying experience:
Home buying was... quite an easy task. Because I wasn't really looking out for a home. I was quite happy with the flat I was living in before shifting to this place. But when Roshan Abbas told me about this flat, I thought of checking out the place and trust me, I fell in love with this flat the moment I saw it.
The best thing... about this flat is that it's very airy and cool as it is on the 5th floor. It's been three years since we shifted here. Everyone envies the balcony attached to our living room!
The theme... is sober yet stylish. My wife being an interior designer has a great aesthetic sense. The entire credit of doing up this home goes to her. "I hate loud colours. Warm tones like beige and crème are my favourite and so you'll find more of that in our home," says Raahat Siddique, Khalid's wife.
Pastel shades dominate our house. We hate anything too jazzy, so you won't find anything too loud here.
There are a few paintings and vases. You'll find lots of mirrors and lights to give the house a warm and inviting look.
My favourite corner... is our balcony. I just love sitting there. Especially during monsoons, this is one place where I love to chill out.
Why this area? First, because I am lucky to get a house in this location, it is close to the beach. This area is quite happening and has almost everything that a resident would want. Secondly, because the flat is nice and spacious and the studio's or shooting locations are not too far.
On top of everything, we have lovely neighbours and a good neighbourhood. There's more breathing space here, even our building is really huge and spacious. So, I don't ever want to shift from here.
Owning a flat in Mumbai... is a great achievement. Moreover, when you own a flat it gives you a sense of security. Buying a home is something that makes you feel proud and independent. |
