Both Malaika and Waluscha have made pregnancy fashionable
Bharti Gopal, a first-time mother of a healthy baby girl from Sindhi Society, says she shopped at Akbarally's at Chembur Naka during her pregnancy. "I bought nighties and gowns with side zips and loose fits from there," she says. "I also got jablas and other clothes for infants, foam bags to carry feeding bottles, nappies, etc. from the store," she adds.
Many women prefer to buy all that they need from abroad. Priya Hingorani, resident of 90 Feet Road, was able to coincide her daughter-in-law's pregnancy with a trip abroad. "I shopped exclusively at Harrod's in London for maternity gowns, a breast-feeding apron, soft baby-wraps, a multi-purpose bag to carry baby gear and much more," she says.
Closer home, Shoppers' Stop also offers a section for maternity wear and infants' essentials. Mallika Tiwari of Pestom Sagar says she bought maternity gowns, feeding bras and other essentials from here.
