Sharmilee Raj bags best actress award

Sharmilee has acted in several Hindi and Gujarati TV serialsSharmilee Raj, resident of Nandanvan on Mahatma Gandhi Road, has won the best Gujarati TV serial actress award for 2002, incorporated by Transmedia for promoting Gujarati in the entertainment industry.

Sharmilee bagged the award for her role in Bhagya Vidhata, a tele-serial on ETV Gujarati.

The serial has completed over 300 episodes. The award ceremony was held at Hotel Tulip Star on March 19 and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi was the chief guest.

Sharmilee has acted in several Hindi and Gujarati TV serials and has done lead roles in Gujarati films too. I am very selective about my roles and my part in Bhagya Vidhata gave me ample scope as an actress.

Sharmilee has won several awards for best performances on the screen. In 1998, she won the best debut performance award for her role in Gaane Bhubon Bhoriye Debo, a Bengali film.

She also won the best actress award for her performance in Lakhtar Ni Laddi Ne Vilayat Nu Var, a Gujarati film.
