Story This 1 hour 20 minute movie takes place entirely within and around the confines of a New York City phone booth. Stu Shepard (Colin Farrell), a low-rent media consultant, is cheating on his wife.
He gets into a phone booth to make a call to his client/prospective
girlfriend as his wife has noticed his cellular phone bills.
Once in, he is trapped inside after he picks up the ringing phone and is told by a caller - a serial killer with a sniper rifle - that he'll be shot dead if he hangs up. Now, he must use the phone to save his life or else risk the consequences of leaving the booth.

I am waiting for Ram Gopal Varmas version of the film. This could easily be shot in Bollywood. The cellphone-totting publicist, his client, the starlet, the jealous wife are characters that can belong anywhere. With the recent spate of thrillers this could be the next one.
I really liked Colin Farrell in the film. The character is so real, unlike Hindi movie heroes who are never comfortable being scared on screen. They always have to be heroic. It was wise to keep the movie short otherwise it would have got on my nerves.

This film is a complete timepass. The acting is pretty good and I really loved the scene when Stu confesses. But there was too much swearing in the film. After a while you feel irritated by the childish and limited vocabulary.
The pimp acted well, especially in the dying scene, but other than that the whole hooker-pimp scene was superficial. Also, Stu does not look that hurt when he gets shot near the ear. If you do not expect much, it is a good film.

The film was just fine. I dont think one would be easily scared of picking up the phone after watching Phone Booth but the thought does cross your mind. I thought the voice that threatened Su on the phone sounded really funny. Colin Farrell was good as usual. But the climax was a bit of a letdown.

Colin Farrell is a very good actor and his performance is what really drives this film. The story was good even though it ended rather abruptly. The editing was terrific. I loved the fast movements and the MTV style editing in the film.
The only flaw in the film is that after a stirring build-up, the film gives you a two-minute climax.
