Shahrukh is just brilliant: Preity Zinta
By:

Shes having a late lunch with her co-stars Salman Khan and Atul Agnihotri as they discuss their next scene in their new venture, Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha.

She speaks to metro about her latest film Kal Ho Naa Ho, which is scheduled for release on Nov 28.

Excerpts from the interview:

How has it been working with Shah Rukh Khan?

SRK is a one take artiste. Hes not just brilliant but really quick too. Even though he hurt his back hes a powerhouse of energy. Hes constantly hyper and his energy level never dips on the sets. He is always eager to get a shot right and is excellent with improvising.

Working with a fine actor like Shah Rukh is always a learning experience for his co-stars.

The best part about working with him is that he makes sure you are always on your toes. Most often than not his energy spreads to the whole crew.

How was it being part of Karan Johars Kal Ho Naa Ho?

Karan is known to pamper his artistes. I just love him. He is multi-faceted and you are forever discovering his many qualities. Everyone knows him as a director and producer. He has also written the story and screenplay of Kal Ho Naa Ho. But what you would not know is that he can act better than half the actors I know.

He also has a great sense of design. He is deeply involved in the designing of clothes for his films. He is very particular and looks into everything from the embroidery to the fittings. Karan is also a great choreographer.

Hes witty and his sense of humour is amazing and above all hes very caring. I discovered him during the filming of Kal Ho Naa Ho.

But I must add that hes the most clumsy guy in the world. He will slip and fall over everything and anything.

And how has it been having Jaya Bachchan as your screen mom?

Jayaji is just wonderful. She is elegant, dignified and just so cool.

Working with her was something Ill remember for the rest of my life.
Though she is such a senior actress she made us all so comfortable.

She also has a fabulous sense of humour. She plays my mother Jennifer in the film.
