The Taj staff planting treesIn a bid to do their bit for the environment at least 277 employees of Taj Lands End pledged to use the earths resources more prudently on June 6, World Environment Day.
We plan to make this an ongoing effort, says Anil Grover, a member of the sales and marketing team, Taj Lands End, adding that the management had formed an environment team two months ago.
Employees were given a chance to make a pledge to do something for the environment be it at home, work or in public spaces. We also organised a poster painting competition, planted trees on Bandstand along with BBRT and the BMC, staged a street play outside Bandra railway station and cleared the garbage on Bandstand, says Ramchandra Bhivsane, a member of the environment team.
According to the plan, the hotel management will adopt an area every month within or beyond the limits of Bandra and organise a clean-up, tree plantation or environmental awareness drive.
As a corporate body we are conscientious about our environment. We would like to go beyond just being responsible for our hotel, adds Hemant Patil, another environment team member.
