Its the perfect setting for a lazy Sunday with your friends and family. Waterfield Road-based Seijo and the Soul Dish has introduced Sunday brunches.
Chef and owner Nitin Tandon says, We thought its a good idea to start a brunch because people like to eat at leisure on Sundays. Our intention is not to compete with other restaurants but to offer something more to our customers.
Food
The buffet offers an assortment of 37 salads and starters to choose from, both veg and non-veg. From Dim Sums to Satays to corn cakes, theres a little bit of everything. And the relatively small portions mean that you get to try almost everything on offer.
We tried the veg Dim Sums, the Thai Style Corn Cakes and the Green Curry Spiked Bay Prawns. The dumplings are well cooked and a good way to sample a bit of the South East Asian cuisine, while the corn cakes and the prawns are tasty.
For the main course (nine options) we picked the Tofu Katzu Steak with Spicy Mayo Sauce over Shredded Salad Greens with Herbs and the
Vietnamese Style Char Grilled Lemon Chicken Breast, Asparagus and Steamed Rice.
The Vietnamese Style Char Grilled Lemon Chicken Breast, Asparagus and Steamed Rice have a very oriental flavour and are light and enjoyable. The chicken leaves you feeling light yet full.
The desserts (11 options) are a mouth-watering assortment of chocolate. While we tried the Chocolate Souffle, the Almond Cointreau Chocolate Slice and the Chocolate Terrine, there is more to pick from, from Tiramisu to Banana Bars.
The Souffle and the Chocolate Terrine taste heavenly, while the chocolate almond slice is a little heavy on the almond, that takes away from the taste of the chocolate. But they make a perfect ending to the brunch.
Ambience
The Budhha statue, the portico style glass walls and the pop art definitely offer an interesting accompaniment. However, the constant movement of people disrupts atmosphere a little. But given that it is a buffet and on a day like Sunday, that can be excused.
