  Chain-snatching gang of three nabbed in Juhu By: Mayank Soni December 22, 2005 Police officials from the DN Nagar and Juhu police stations have caught a gang of chain-snatchers and mobile thieves who operated in the western suburbs and were involved in 19 different cases. Raju Chotelal Saroj (22), Vicky Pratap Singh (21) and Ranjan Harisingh Thakur (21) were caught on Dec 14 at Juhu following a tip-off.

Police inspector Suryawanshi says, The thieves were mainly motorbike borne and escaped after snatching the chains. Now we are interrogating them and trying to recover the goods they had stolen.

Hiral S Shah, a resident of Vile Parle, says, My Nokia 3310 phone was stolen when I was returning home from my classes in the evening near Aarsa shopping centre in July. I realised that my phone was missing only when I got home. I lodged a complaint in the DN Nagar police station. The police have caught a gang of thieves and I hope I will get my mobile back after the formalities are completed.

Pushpa Ajit Singh, a resident of Veera Desai Road, says, My gold chain worth Rs 20,000 was stolen while I was boarding a crowded bus near Nadco shopping centre on SV Road. I am happy that the thieves were caught and I have got my chain back.

In the meantime, victims are hoping to get their stolen stuff back. The thieves will be in police custody till Dec 24 when the next hearing of the case is scheduled.
