Arjun Alfred Pinto, a resident of 16th Road, who met with an accident in Hubli on June 15 and was in a coma for 32 days, passed away on July 19.

Pinto was on his way back to Mumbai from Mangalore when a tanker collided with his bus. Of all the 19 passengers in the bus, Pinto was the only one to be injured.

He was admitted to Dharwa Hospital, Hubli. Pintos father, Arvind Pinto, was informed about the accident only at 2 am on June 16.

On reaching the hospital, Arvind Pinto found that there was no one registered by the name of his son and had to look all over the hospital until he finally found his son bleeding and unattended.

Apparently, Pintos belongings including his wallet, cellphone and watch were missing.

Pinto was then shifted to Shivkrupa hospital, where he underwent an emergency operation. Since then he had been in a coma up to July 19 early morning.

Says Arvind Pinto, who has not yet recovered from the shock, Arjun was very good at athletics and an active member of Chembur Gymkhana. He would have turned 19 on July 25.
