As summer is approaching, everyone who walks into our parlour wants short hair. They want their hairstyle to be very striking, and easily manageable at the same time. I always suggest razor cut or layered cut for girls with short hair. My personal favourite is the messy look for girls with long hair.

Layered cut
This hairstyle gives an extra bounce to your hair. Curly and wavy hair look less unruly and this hairstyle frames your face. Not very experimental, this haircut is preferred by all age groups."

Razor cut
Razor cut is the sharpest when it comes to the cutting edge of hairstyle this season. Its an asymmetrical haircut, which is cut with the help of scissors and razor. Its chic and easy to manage.

Messy look
Though it sounds messy, this hairstyle is easy to maintain. Long messy hair looks sexy. You can also add a dash of colour to your hair just like Jennifer Anistons hairstyle in Friends.

Our clientele is always looking for something new and we love experimenting with funky and out-of-the-box hairstyles. Our favourites in the summer season are hair tattoos and short spiky hair.

Spikes

I love this look because you can look funky for the weekend, classy at work and really hot for the night. Splash your spikes with bold colours, red, purple or burgundy and you are ready to be a trendsetter. As long as you dont go spike crazy this look is great and still up-to-date.

The best part of this look is it looks great on both men and women. Internationally, Hollywood beauty Halle Berry started off this trend. Her hair is either spiked up or gelled to the forehead.

Hair tattoos

Men are increasingly opting to get hair tattoos and with the summer beginning, they are getting more popular. Some even get their tattoos coloured. This is definitely the trend this season.

Hair care tips for summer

Wash as often as you can
Summer makes all types of hair greasy and grimy. So wash your hair as often as you can. Wash curly hair every third day, wavy hair every
second day and straight hair every day.

Shampoo the scalp not the hair
While shampooing, mainly focus on the scalp and roots as they are much oilier. Concentrate less on the mid-length and ends of your hair as these will cleanse when the shampoo is rinsed from the scalp.

Take extra care of coloured hair
Take extra care of coloured hair. Avoid exposing hair to
sunlight or tie a scarf when out in the sun.

Use the right conditioner

Use a conditioner that suits your hair. Apply conditioner from root downwards but dont apply conditioner to the roots. For that extra shine, add little lemon or vinegar to your last rinse water.

Try hair extension for longer hair
If you have short hair and want the feel of long hair this summer without the mess, try hair extensions.
