Serial chain-snatcher arrested ACP Subhash Jadhav's son Manik Jadhav (19) and his friend Nilesh Satpute (19) were caught red-handed, by the public at Matunga while trying to snatch a chain from a woman. The incident occurred at around 8 pm on Thursday. The duo, who were on a silver CBZ bike, snatched the chain from a lady and attempted to flea. Seeing this, one Anand Puranik who was in his car, chased them and caught them. He then took them to the Matunga police station. The police have registered a case against the duo under Section 379 of IPC and the FIR No is 205/2000. Senior Inspector Sonawane and PI Satam are investigating the case. The silver CBZ bike is parked in the Matunga police station, while the two accused are in police custody. Ironically, ACP Jadhav is known to be an honest and upright officer according to his collegues. " Jadhav is a very honest and hardworking. It is sad to see him go through this because of his son," said an officer of the Matunga police station. ACP Jadhav visited the Matunga police station yesterday morning. However, attempts to contact him for comments proved futile.
