A miscreant, masquerading as a devotee, made a vain attempt to attack godman Sri Satya Sai Baba in Bangalore, today.
The assailant, armed with an airpistol, tried to pounce on the Sai Baba while he was conducting a prayer meeting. The Sai Baba trust volunteers overpowered him, snatched the pistol and handed him over to the authorities.
''Sai Baba is safe'', official sources here said. During interrogation, the miscreant, who hailed from Tamil Nadu, told the police that he wanted to frighten the security people, the sources added.
