VSNL-Tata deal clinched~ says Mahajan |

 The VSNL-Tata Teleservices deal has been finalised and a joint statement would be given at New Delhi later in the day, Union Minister for Communications and Parliamentary Affairs Pramod Mahajan said in Hyderabad today.
"There was no hitch in the deal nor any dispute as they reached to an agreement and would make a joint declaration", Mahajan told reporters at an informal chat after a book release function here today.
When asked about the details, Mahajan said that it was not proper on his part to divulge them when the two parties are slated for declaring them at function later. "As far as the government is considered, we have no problem and as disinvestment is an ongoing process, we will take care of certain things learning in the proess", he said.
There were hectic talks last night to resolve the imbroglio over VSNL decision to invest Rs 1,200 crore in Tata Teleservices, a move which did not go well with Mahajan. However, the mandarins of the industry and political will had ushered in negotiations which Mahajan said, "had gone well
and a deal was clinched".
