Strongly defending beleagured NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar today said the former deputy chief minister was a fighter. "Everybody knows that he (Bhujbal) is a fighter. It is not new.... it is always that result-oriented persons are targeted," Pawar told reporters when he was asked about the former Maharashtra deputy chief minister. "Even I was targeted by the Opposition some years back when my name was linked with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim", Pawar said. Referring to probe carried out by Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the stamp scam, Pawar said: "Truth will come out soon and Bhujbal will continue to work for the party with renewed vigour." Asked what action will be initiated against Bhujbal if the SIT summons him, Pawar shot back saying: "If SIT calls him, it might be for some informaion". Pawar said there was a difference between an investigating agency calling somebody to seek information and a person's name being in the list of accused.
