Mulund victims to be compensated in June

 The compensation claims of the victims of the Mulund train bomb blast, in which 11 were killed and 70 injured, would be settled by June end, BJP MP Kirit Somaiya said.

Speaking at the foundation laying stone of a foot-overbridge at Ghatkopar in northeast Mumbai, which was attended by the State minister of railway, A K Murthy, he said that nearly 72 people had filed their claims.

The special divisional bench would begin hearing the cases from June two and the money was expected to be disbursed by June end, he said.

The compensation amount was expected to be around Rs two to four lakh.

The Minister of State for Railways, A K Murthy attended the function.

The blast had ripped through the first class ladies compartment of a Karjat bound local train on the night of March 13.
