The famous dabbawallas of Mumbai, who deliver tiffins to lakhs of officegoers in the city through an indigenous management system, are expected to receive a royal visitor next month -- Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne. Charles, who is slated to pay a three-day visit to Mumbai from November 1, had displayed his eagerness to personally check out how the dabbawallas in Mumbai manage to reach the tiffins collected from various parts of the city to the right person seated in an office miles away. The Prince is expected to be taken near Churchgate station to watch the dabbawallas in action, official sources said today. An official team of the Prince had flown to the country and had a meeting with the state government officials two weeks ago to chalk out the itinerary of the royal visitor. The Prince would also have a tour of Bollywood, one of the biggest film industries of the world and watch shooting of the movie `The Rising', the sources added. The royal guest is also expected to meet Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai and British actor Toby Stevens on the sets of the film, based on 1857 mutiny with Aamir Khan playing the role of Mangal Pandey, the Indian sepoy. Also on his list of places to visit would be the commercial dockyard. The Prince's other scheduled programmes during his stay would include a seminar with IT experts to be organised by NASSCOM, besides having a meeting with businessmen and visits to the Society for Promotion of Area Resources and Cheshire Home for Disabled at Andheri.
