Videocon Cup: India win toss~ elect to field

Amsterdam: Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly won the toss and elected to field against Pakistan in the first one-day international of the tri-series on Saturday.

The match was reduced to 36 overs after rains overnight and morning delayed the start by three and half hours.

India named Rohan Gavaskar in place of Sachin Tendulkar who was ruled out with a tennis elbow.

Ajit Agarkar was the third seamer and Anil Kumble the lone specialist spinner. Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra have been laid low by viral fever.

India: Sourav Ganguly (captain), Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Laxmipathy Balaji, Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, Rohan Gavaskar, Anil Kumble.

Pakistan: Inzamam-ul Haq (captain), Yasir Hameed, Shahid Afridi, Yousaf Youhana, Shoaib Malik, Younis Khan, Moin Khan, Shoaib Akhtar, Abdur Razzaq, Mohammad Sami and Shabbir Ahmed.

Umpires: David Shepherd (Eng) and Steve Bucknor (WI).

Third umpire: Jeremy Lloyds (Eng).
