India named Rohan Gavaskar in place of Sachin Tendulkar who was ruled out with a tennis elbow. Ajit Agarkar was the third seamer and Anil Kumble the lone specialist spinner. Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra have been laid low by viral fever.
