Dubai amenities and facilities will be showcased in various cities across the world during this month (Feb 1st - Feb 29th) as part of the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing's (DTCM) initiative to promote the emirate internationally to attract tourists and investments.

The DTCM Manager Overseas Promotions, Mr. Khalifa Ali Buamaim, said: "The emirate's state-of the art facilities will be the focus of attractions for a large number of global decision makers in various sectors," said Mr. Buamaim.

Dubai is participating in the World Travel India (Feb 5th -8th) in Mumbai, India, Holiday World 2004 (Feb 12th - 15th) in Prague, Czech Republic, Italian International Tourism Exchange (Feb 14th - 17th) in Milan, Italy, Asia-Pacific Incentive and Meeting Expo (Feb 17th - 18th) in Melbourne, Australia, International CONFEX-2004 in London, UK, East Mediterranean International Travel & Tourism Exhibition in Istanbul, Turkey.

The department is also organizing for the first time a series of three road shows in New Zealand from February 10 to 13. The road shows cover three cities - Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.

"Showcasing Dubai at so many places around the world in a month might look unbelievable. But this is exactly what we have been engaged almost every month. Our efforts have brought recognition to the emirate as the most-visited global destination in terms of travel and business," said Mr. Buamaim.

The exhibitions in every destination are for specific sectors and Dubai's participation in these major events indicates the emirate's commitment and seriousness in all the areas of tourism.

"The events range from basic tourism exhibitions to specific purpose shows such as Meeting, Incentive, Conferences and Exhibition fairs. The fact that the emirate is participating in all such categories of events speaks volumes about Dubai's capability," said Mr. Buamaim.

He stated that holding exhibitions, roadshows and workshops in different countries has remained the foremost activity at the department to promote its facilities among international audience.

"Participating in such events has matured Dubai immensely as a tourism promoting destination. This has simultaneously given us impetus to hold and conduct similar huge shows in the emirate," said Mr. Buamaim.
