Siwan: The name of controversial RJD Lok Sabha member from Siwan Md Shahabuddin was today deleted from the voters list. The action follows Election Commission's directive to delete names of those against whom non-bailable warrants were pending for six months or more, Sub-Divisional Officer-cum- Electoral Registration Officer Md Abul Hassan told PTI. Hassan said according to the EC directive the names of such persons were being deleted, as they are not ordinary residents of the constituency. However, he said with registration of names in the list being a continuous process, the name of Shahabuddin could be included in case he turns up before the last date of filing nomination for Siwan which goes to polls in the fourth and final phase on November 19. November 2 is the last date for filing nomination in constituencies in Siwan district. District Magistrate of Siwan Santosh Kumar Mal on October 6 externed Shahabuddin from Siwan till December 20 in connection with a case relating to application of Bihar Crime Control Act (CCA).
