We appeal to the people to stay calm
Commissioner of Police A N Roy
We have beefed up security arrangements all over the city. Special attention is being paid to crowded public places. Since it is festive season, police presence has been increased around shopping malls, markets and places of worships.
Bomb detection teams and assault squads have been alerted, while the Quick Response Team (QRT) has been deployed at strategic locations to respond to crisis at the shortest possible time. Senior police officials will be monitoring the arrangements.
We appeal to the people to stay calm. Dont believe rumors. The police are fully equipped to deal with any situation and there is no cause for panic. If anyone has any information about anything suspicious, they can inform the police on numbers 100 or 103, or call their local police stations. People need to be careful at religious places
Joint Commissioner of Mumbai Police, Arup Patnaik

There is adequate police and the reserve force has also been called in as the security has been intensified at crowded places like temples, markets, etc. As it is the festive season, people need to be careful at religious places.
