Channels Kingfisher Airlines buys ATR 72-500 By: Ramesh Sattawalla. April 13, 2006 Vijay Mallyas Kingfisher Airlines has taken delivery of its first ATR 72-500 aircraft, reports Ramesh Sattawalla.
Says Mallya, chairman and managing director of Kingfisher Airlines, These aircraft will allow us to develop our network and introduce routes previously not served. We are excited to bring the Kingfisher Airlines experience to more cities in India.
The airlines, till date, has ordered 35 new ATR 72-500 and has 20 more on options. The acquisition represents new generation of turboprop aircraft with its Elegance cabin. Its features include technological innovations in the field of communications in-flight entertainment.
