One person succumbed to injuries at Bhabha Hospital, while another is battling for life following a daylight shooting incident near Mahim Dargah this afternoon. The police said that the shooting was the outcome of an intra-gang rivalry, in which the deceased, identified as Akbar Dadhi, who suffered chest and head injuries, was shot at by one Azim Kazi. While Dadhi was chased and fired at by Kazi, two rounds hit Dadhi on his chest and head, the police said, adding that the third round fired by an associate of Kazi, missing the deceased and instead hit Kazi. Both the injured persons were rushed to Bhabha Hospital, where Dadhi succumbed to his injuries, while Kazi is battling for life. One Mohammed Asif, an associates of Kazi, has been arrested and another is absconding. One motorcycle has been recovered from the spot, the police added. The police further said that both the deceased and injured have previous criminal records. A case of firing and murder has been registered with the Mahim police and further investigations are in progress. |
