Channels Maid jumps to her death in Parel By: A Mid Day Correspondent July 26, 2006 Around 11.15 pm last night, Sangita Kharat (20), a maid committed suicide by jumping from the third floor of her building, Hilla Towers in Parel.
A watchman noticed her lying in a pool of blood and took her to KEM Hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The Kalachowki cops have confirmed it was a suicide. However, they are still trying to ascertain the reason behind the act.
Sangita, a resident of Bardevi slum in Sewree, stayed with her father Balu Kharat, mother Indu and brother Sanjay. On Monday night, she had been scolded by her brother and mother for coming back late from work, said a police officer.
