Solapur: Twenty-nine Dalit activists of a faction of the Republican Party of India (RPI) were today detained during protests here against the killing of four members of a Dalit family at Khairlanji village in Bhandara district in September. The protestors were detained at Samrat Chowk near the statue of Bhaurao Patil under the Bombay Police Act and later released, police said. The Dalit activists are planning to stage another protest tomorrow over the same issue at Mechanic Chowk here, police said.
