 | | Brand recall: The Vodafone pug lead the ad campaign |
The pug in the Vodafone advertisement is giving superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan a run for their money, says a report of JuxtConsult, a Delhi-based agency that keenly observes TRP ratings of advertisements.
According to the report, among the ads that stay in the consumer’s mind after telecast, is the Vodafone advertisement with the pug, which tops the list with 14 per cent. It is followed by SRK’s Airtel ad and Bachchan’s Cadbury Dairy Milk ad at 10 and four per cent respectively.
The recall value of the Vodafone ad is as high as seven per cent, while that of Bachchan’s ad is of two percent.
Among ad slogans, Surf Excel’s Daag Achche Hai tops the recall value with Vodafone’s Wherever You Go Our Network Follows coming second, with a recall value of four per cent.
The agency surveyed a sample of over 10,000 brand-conscious urban consumers, between the ages of 13 and 55 years. Voices The Vodafone pug is a perfect example of creativity at its best — it’s the best ad made in the last decade. Today, ads are celebrity-driven rather than being product-based. — Alyque Padamsee
The ad is cute. The pug has been successful in becoming a good brand ambassador. Only a bad script brings a celebrity in the centre stage. — Prahlad Kakar, ad guru
I feel immensely proud that I brought a change in the advertisement field — Shankar Iyer, co-ordinator of the pug in the advertisement |
