The CCTV camera has been adjusted in the right direction. The position of a CCTV camera at the east end of Andheri station has suddenly changed. This was the same camera about which MiD DAY had reported on July 9. Of the nine cameras installed at Andheri station, as many as three were found to be either pointing in the wrong direction or covering a little of the station premises. The camera was facing the wrong directionAccording to sources, hawkers in collusion with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel were allegedly tampering with the camera angles. After the report, the position of one CCTV camera was changed it was moved to a place where it would cover more area. We have shifted the camera, as the area covered was less and those entering the station from the foot over bridge (FOB) were not covered. The MiD DAY report on July 9Besides, there was no need to cover areas that are not part of our premises, said an RPF official. According to sources, the position of the camera was changed earlier to ensure that the hawkers do not come into view of the camera at all as they are not authorised to sell their wares on the station premises.
