Samsung F700 About a month after Apple unveiled the iPhone, Samsung started showing off the F700. It features a 3G data connection, a 5-megapixel digital camera, a large touch screen, all sorts of multimedia features, an expansion-card slot, Adobe Flash user interface, full Web site browsing and a slide-out QWERTY keypad. LG Prada Phone The LG Prada phone costs Rs 34,000. It features a large color display, Adobe Flash-based user interface, document viewing features and music and video playback. The Prada is only 1.2 centimeters thick. Like the iPhone, the Prada lacks a traditional keypad and has a touch screen. T-Mobile Wing Yet another HTC smart phone running Windows Mobile, the T-Mobile Wing has features like EDGE data-network access and talk time up to only four hours. But it also has a large, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, an expansion card slot and wi-fi. HTC Touch Taiwanese cellphone maker High Tech Computer Corporation (HTC) unveiled Touch this month. Touch has a large touch screen that like the iPhone is its main navigation platform. The device runs Microsofts Windows Mobile operating system, plays music, videos and supports wi-fi Internet. The Touch is available in India in a soft black and green colour. It is priced at Rs 19,900. Apple iPhone Available in two versions costing $599 (Rs 24,000) for the 8GB model and $499 (Rs 20,000) for the 4GB model, this phone features a predictive touch keyboard, where one can type by tapping at the screen. While this makes it attractive, a fixed battery that cannot be replaced and its price are a let down. Helio Ocean Ocean has two slide-out keypads, one for normal dialing and another for text messaging, e-mailing and Web browsing. The phone also has neat features like GPS-powered Google Maps and an over-the-air music download service. Nokia N95 This product from Nokia is thick and hefty and includes global positioning system (GPS) that powers maps and local search functions, TV-out capabilities to play your videos on a larger screen, and a 5-megapixel digital camera are also part of the phone. It is priced at about Rs 32,000. HP iPAQ 500 The 500 series will be the first iPaqs that looks like cellphones, with phone keypads instead of QWERTY keyboards or touch screens. iPaq 500 comes with VOIP compatibility, push e-mail, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Outlook Mobile. The phone features 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, 64MB of memory and 128MB of storage with a micro SD card slot to expand memory. The iPaq 500 connects to the Internet via GSM/GPRS/Edge networks, as well as via Wi-Fi. The handset also allows users to play music and videos, store photos and play games on the device. This phone will be launched later this year. RIM BlackBerry Curve For business e-mailers who appreciate a touch of elegance, Research in Motion (RIMs) newest BlackBerry design is functional and attractive, with the usual, high-quality BlackBerry e-mail service and music and video playback. This phone will be launched in India this year.
