Acting on a complaint filed by an airhostess, the Santacruz airport police station arrested two Air India employees for indecent exposure. The accused were later released on bail.
According to the complaint filed on March 6, two cabin instructors, P Sailam (24) and Naval Bharucha (65) had behaved indecently with airhostess Fatima Singh (55) (name changed).
The police arrested Sailam on March 10 and Bharucha on March 12, but both were later let off on bail.
In the complaint, Singh alleged that Sailam had unzipped his fly in front of her and Bharucha had passed lewd remarks.
The incident took place in February, but she lodged the complained on March 6, said an airport source.
When contacted Singh told MiD DAY, Three other women have faced the same behaviour in Air India.
I am a very senior cabin crew member and all I can say is that I have emerged victorious. She declined to comment further.
Sources however said that Singhs complaint could be an outcome her not being able to clear her exams.
Singh had appeared for internal exams in February, which she failed to clear. Both Bharucha and Sailam were her examiners and Singh blamed them for her failure, said the source.
An official from the Santacruz airport police station said that investigations in the case are still on.
