An IAS officer is facing court summons as the fallout of marital discord between her mother and foster father.
Mugdha Sinha, collector of Hanumangarh district in Rajasthan, has been summoned by a Delhi court after her foster father Prem Peyara filed a case of misappropriation under the Arms Act and forgery against her.
Shady character
Prem Peyara has already been accused in a case of dowry harassment and is out on bail. Peyara in his complaint before the court said that after 22 years of marriage his wife and foster daughter forced him out of his house in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. “It was a conspiracy hatched by Mugdha Sinha and her mother. They not only threw me out but also refused to hand me over my belongings, including the licensed fire arm registered in my name,” said the complainant.
He also alleged that the accused in the case sold the guns to an arms dealer in Jaipur after forging his signature and other important details. “The sales papers related to the fire arms also did not bear the arms license number and other details like make of the gun and license number,” he said.
Not convincing
Meanwhile, he failed to give any proper reason behind the conduct of his wife and foster daughter. Peyara married Sinha's mother Kamala Prem in year 1981 who was 10 years older to him. He was allegedly thrown out of his house in year 2003 and the dowry harassment case too was filed after 22 years of marriage.
The gun was stored in a bank locker operated jointly by the complainant and the accused. Peyara further alleged that Mugdha removed the gun from the locker without informing and taking his consent.
The court has also summoned the arms dealer who had purchased the gun. Counsel for Prem also alleged negligence on part of the Delhi Police for misleading the investigation. |
