A famous encounter specialist is likely to get into more trouble in a land-grabbing case.
After eight months of investigation, the Crime Branch will soon file a charge sheet against the cop, who cannot be named.
“We are in the stage of filing the charge sheet,” said Rakesh Maria, JCP (crime).
The case dates back to November 2004 when Chhota Shakeel’s alleged aide Iqbal Attarwala and 35 henchmen barged into a 2,305-sq m plot on Malad Link Road and forcibly evicted builder Ranchhodbhai Patel in connivance with an encounter specialist.
Sources say, Arif Shaikh, Shakeel’s brother-in-law, was also involved. |
