The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has been rigorously questioning Tata VSNL technician Rajesh Bodkar, or Raj, who was called by Kenneth Haywood to rectify technical problems in his Wi-Fi network. An e-mail claiming responsibility for the serial blasts in Ahmedabad on July 26 was traced to the Sanpada home of Haywood.

Haywood got in touch with Tata VSNL in January after he found an unexpected increase in his Internet bills. Raj logged on to his computer through the Wi-Fi network using Heywood's password and solved the problem. Later, when Haywood asked if he should change his Wi-Fi password, Raj said no. The police have found Raj's act fishy since he already knew Haywood's password, visited him many times and then asked him not to change his password. Raj, who hails from Kharghar in Navi Mumbai, is the sole earning member of his family.

ATS chief Hemant Karkare said his officers had seized 10 computers and seven laptops from Gunina apartments and sent it to a forensic lab.

Ravindran S, head of corporate communication, Tata Communications, said, "We only supply broadband Internet and not WiFi services. Haywood had converted our broadband connection to WiFi on his own. He may have asked our technician to assist him on his own accord. We do not take any responsibility of what happened."
