Keeping track: Bopanna (third from left) and his team mates |
The programme provides instant information on offenders at the click of a button.
First of its kind
Bopanna A Aiyanna (24), who works for Delta Airways, has developed the software, said to be the first of its kind.
It would also alert officials on any changes in details of registered vehicle users.
"This software will serve as a storage device. It will provide adequate information on any offenders," said Bopanna.
The software will replace the existing system of tracing addresses manually.
How it works
By typing the vehicle registration number, RTO officials can obtain user details, in seconds.
"Owners of registered vehicles will find the site useful. For instance, if they lose their driving license, they can get relevant details from this site," said Bopanna.
User friendly
The software, which costs about Rs 2 lakh, will be presented before the transport minister.
"Advanced software like this will certainly help us out as we are currently using conventional methods to find addresses from old files," said R Ashok, transport minister.
The present system fails to give updated information, which can be overcome by the new software," he said.
