Actor Chunky Pandey's face looks more tanned and taut these days and he has lost the bags under his eyes as well. Speculations are that he has undergone a cosmetic surgery. Many people in the city too are going under the scalpel to resemble their favourite stars. MiD DAY checks with surgeons about the most sought after celebrity body parts for cosmetic surgeries.

Lip Augmentation:
Top choice: Angelina Jolie
Cost: Rs 18,000 to Rs 40,000 depending on the volume required.
This procedure enhances the size of lips, making it more appealing and sensuous. The lips are injected with artificial fillers. However, the result lasts for a short time. The procedure takes an hour and there is no need to be admitted to the hospital.
Fat from different parts of the body can also be injected into the lips, but it involves a risk. "If the person puts on weight, the lips too grow fat. Fat has memory. If the fat is taken from thighs and a person puts on weight there, the lips too will grow fat. We take fat from the parts of bodies where people tend to put on less weight, which is different from person to person," said Dr S A Surindher, Cosmesis India.

Rhinoplasty (Nose job)
Top choice: Reese Witherspoon
Cost: Rs 40,000
Rhinoplasty is one of the most common operations performed by cosmetic surgeons today. It improves the appearance of the nose. Rhinoplasty in most cases involves modifying the underlying skeleton (bones and cartilage) to produce the desired effect.

Brow Lift
Top choice: Jack Nicholson in Batman
Cost: Rs 35,000
This is a type of limited face lift where only the forehead skin is tightened and lifted up with the eyebrows. Once the skin is lifted it is hitched to the bone by suspension sutures or screws. The procedure and post-operation care can take 24-36 hours. For a few months the patient is required to wear a head band. Side-effects include numbness post-procedure which subsides over time.

Cheek implant
Top choice: George Clooney for men and Kiera Knightley for women
Cost: Rs 25,000
This involves changing the shape of the jaw, cheekbones and chin.

Buttock augmentation
Top choice: Jennifer Lopez
Cost: Rs 1 lakh
This procedure involves the enhancement of the buttocks. Implants are more expensive and  cost around one lakh, including hospital fees. If the surgery is done using the patient's body fat, it will cost Rs 50,000. If the patient gains weight, he or she is likely to gain weight in the augmented area too.

Breast Enhancement

Breast enhancement is done to improve the contour and projection of the breasts. Implants come in different shapes and sizes.
Silicone gel implants are permanent as they do not deflate. But they require a larger incision size. They have a natural feel and the new highly cohesive gel implants do not leak even if they are punctured or cut.
Saline implants are silicone bags into which saline has been injected. The advantage of this is that smaller incisions are required and the size can be increased or decreased in case of size discrepancies between the right and the left breast. The disadvantage is that the saline may leak over a period of several years and the implant may need to be replaced.

Pectoral Implant
Top Choice: Shah Rukh Khan after the release of Om Shanti Om
Cost: Rs 80,000
Implants are injected into the torso area. "In some cases weight reduction is done through liposuction. The person has to first lose weight and get a flat stomach before he gets implants," said Dr Surindher.

Body Contouring
Top Choice: David Beckham for men and Mallaika Arora for women.
Cost: Rs 50,000 to over one lakh.Dependant on the body part that needs to be shaped.
The entire body is shaped or contoured. Men prefer Beckham's body especially his calves. Women love Malaika's figure and her legs.
