More than eight people, mostly SIMI activists, have been arrested in connection with the July 26 serial bomb blasts here that killed 55 persons, a senior police official said today.
"We have arrested more than eight people in connection with the serial bomb blasts in Ahmedabad," Joint Commissioner of Police Ashish Bhatia said.
Police, however, said the details of the arrests, made by the city Crime Branch, will be made available shortly.
The Crime Branch had earlier apprehended one Abdul Halim soon after the explosions and he is in judicial custody.
Police have questioned a number of people all over Gujarat which also included eye witnesses and possible suspects.
