Mumbai: British actor Jade Goody, who hit the headlines last year for her "racist remarks" against Shilpa Shetty on the UK reality TV show Big Brother, arrived in Mumbai today to participate in the Indian show Bigg Boss.
This time, however, Shilpa will not be Goody's house-mate, but her 'host'.
Bigg Boss, with a format similar to Big Brother, will go on air on the channel Colors on August 17.
Goody landed in Mumbai by a Virgin Airlines flight this morning and drove to Lonavala, where Bigg Boss will be shot.
Goody has participated twice in Big Brother. Her "racist remarks" against Shilpa created a huge controversy, and generated a lot of sympathy for the Indian actor, who eventually emerged winner in last year's edition of the British show.
Now at the Bigg Boss, Shilpa is not a participant, but the 'host'. She will interact with house-mates every week for the eviction round.
The shooting for Bigg Boss begins today. It will be a daily one-hour show.
It will include a half-an-hour capsule showing live footage of the goings-on at the house around midnight.
The show was in the news, with Aamir Khan's brother Faizal Khan alleging that he was thrown out of the show under the pressure from Aamir.
The identities of other participants were not officially revealed but sources said that TV actress Ketaki Dave and Raja Chaudhary, estranged husband of actress Shweta Tiwari, are among participants.
