If Maria Susairaj's statements before and after her arrest are anything to go by, she seems to have lied to the police.

Tests conducted on Maria on May 13, seven days after the murder of Neeraj Grover, found two injury marks on her body - one on her right hand by a sharp weapon and another on her left upper hand caused due to human bite.

Before her arrest, Maria told the police that she got the injury on her hand when she was cutting vegetables with a knife on May 6. And the other was because of a love bite from her fiancé Emil Jerome on May 7, the day Grover was killed.

But in her confession after she was arrested on May 22, Maria said that Emil killed Neeraj and then raped her at knifepoint.

She said she sustained the knife injury while she was trying to save Grover when Emil was stabbing him. And she did not even mention the other injury.

Maria and Emil allegedly killed Neeraj on May 7 and then chopped him to pieces before burning him in a jungle in Manor on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway.
