Nahin chalega: The complaint letter mentions Om Shanti Om, among other films |
The Temple of Human Dignity has complained that the foreigners work without a work permit, proper visa and other legal formalities. They also alleged that these foreigners later stay here illegally and engage in criminal activities.
Bunty Shrivastava, president of the organisation, said, "Many foreigners, without a work permit, are cast as dancers. They can be a threat to our country. We have been demanding action against producers and foreigners, who work here without completing legal formalities. However, neither the Film Association nor members of the fraternity are taking any initiative."
The Temple of Human Dignity has mentioned Om Shanti Om, Krazzy-4, Bluffma- ster, Taxi No 9211, Salaam-E-Ishq, Garam Masala and Bhool Bhulaiya as some of the films that had foreign artistes.
The CBI confirmed receiving the letter. A top CBI officer said, "Action will be taken against foreigners who work here without work permits. We have taken note of the complaint and have forwarded the letter to Jt CP Rakesh Maria."
Firoze Khan, vice-chairman of Film Federation, vigilance, said, "We have been fighting against illegal casting of foreigners for a long time. Producers need foreigners for dance sequences. Coordinat-ors help them find foreigners, who are in the city on a tourist visa. We have complained about this to the producers several times, but they have ignored us."
