Mumbai: Tata Sky, one of the largest Direct-to-home service providers in India, with a customer base of 2 million people, has decided to increase its earnings by pulling in Aamir Khan as its new brand ambassador.
This is an attempt by Tata Sky to defeat its main rival, Dish TV, who has Shah Rukh Khan as its brand ambassador.
Aamir Khan now will feature in all Tata Sky brand and product communication, including television advertisements, print and radio.
Aamir Khan has expressed his delight that he has been given a chance to represent Tata Sky.
He says, "Since its launch, TataSky has redefined television viewing in India and I am proud to be associated with a brand that epitomizes continued innovation and excellence in home entertainment."
TataSky CEO and Managing Director Vikram Kaushik also believes that Aamir Khan defines everything that Tata Sky stands for.
He said, "Aamir fits correctly with the TataSky brand values of trust, high-quality entertainment and innovation. As our brand ambassador, he will be instrumental in communicating the benefits of TataSky to consumers across the country. It is our privilege to be associated with an actor of the highest caliber and excellent standing in the entertainment industry".
Tata Sky's signing of Aamir couldn't have come at a better time, now that Tata Sky is experiencing competition not only with Dish TV, but also Big TV and Bharti.
