Bangalore: Three people of a wedding party were injured after an altercation with the staff of Empire Hotel on Big Street near Shivajinagar.

Mukhtiar (30), a car driver was severely injured in the head, while Nazu (27) and Mohammed Ayub (30), both realtors, suffered minor injuries.

The injured were attending a relative's wedding in the  nearby  Infantry wedding hall. While the marriage ceremony was going on, Mukhtiar's teenage son and a friend went  to the hotel to buy some ice-cream.

They saw the hotel staff arguing with some people for having parked their vehicles   in front of the hotel, even though they were not customers.

As the boys entered the hotel, they were also caught in the scuffle. They ran away from there come and inform their parents.

Immediately Mukhtiar, father of one of the boys, and two others went to Hotel Empire. Even before they could enquire what the issue was, the hotel staff mistook them for being a part of the parked vehicle owners' gang.

Employees attack

About 20 employees of the hotel attacked the trio with skewers and glass bottles.

They chased them all the way to the wedding hall, and struck them with the missiles.

All the three were injured, with Mukhtiar sustaining a severe cut on his head.

The injured were taken to the Bowring hospital for treatment. But the victims' friends later admitted them to St Philomena's Hospital, as it was a better place.

A case has been registered against Hotel Empire.

ACP Alok Kumar immediately visited the injured men at the Bowring Hospital.

After the incident, Hotel Empire  closed much before its usual deadline of 11 pm.
