The crime branch from the possession of four people here seized four ancient pieces of sapphire and some antique coins worth Rs 10 crore in the international market, official sources said today.
On a tip-off, the crime branch raided a shop in Janipur area of the city yesterday and arrested 4 people who had come to purchase antique idols and sapphire, according to sources.
The accused were identified as Subash Chander, Zafar Hussain Ganai and S C Saraf â all of belonging to the city of Jammu and Chander Kumar of Kalakote area of Rajouri district, reveal sources.
Two vehicles were also seized from them, they added.
A case under 4/5 sapphire act, 1982; 5/25 antiquities art treasurers act; 379 Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) has been registered in this regard and further investigations are on, say officials.
