Sole surviving terrorist, Azam Amir Kasab says this LeT promise, money, and assurance of family's lifetime welfare made him participate in fidayeen attacks

"We will find you a Kashmiri bride and take care of your family for the rest of their lives."

Two promises that killed 188 and left 355 grievously injured in Mumbai over four days of terror attacks.

Azam Amir Kasab (21), the only LeT terrorist captured alive has told doctors, wardboys and cops at Nair Hospital, where he was admitted for gunshot injuries that the promises made him sign up for the fidayeen attacks on Mumbai.

Said a source who wanted to remain anonymous, "When I asked Kasab what motivated him to participate in the terror attacks, he said the Pakistan based Lashkar-e-Taiba's promises had lured him into being a part of the 10-member fidayeen team."

"And of course, he and his family would get a large sum of money, though he wasn't aware of the amount," said the source.

Kasab also told the police that none of the 10 men were told that the November 26 assaults would be suicide attacks, which is why he was looking forward to a future as a family man. In fact, he said, the LeT had promised to help them get out alive.

A very senior officer who had earlier questioned LeT militants said, "The chiefs give them all kinds of assurances. Jihaad, of course, is one and the promise of a wonderful life after death."

Kasab was admitted in trauma ward no 28 of Nair Hospital and was discharged the next day, November 27.
