Self-taught guitarist, music director and singer Raghu Dixit of Kannada film Psycho fame is launching a musical movement against terrorism.
His songs, specially composed on the Mumbai terror attack, will urge young people to join hands and wage a battle against terrorism. These songs will soon be available on various websites and can be downloaded free of cost. It will also be aired on FM radio channels once the composition is done.
"This initiative is to kickstart a movement against terrorism," said Raghu. "I'm trying to create an awareness movement through music as it is one of the most effective mediums. As youth listen to music, it makes it easy for us to convey the message to them."
Terror theme
Dixit will compose the music for two songs based on the recent Mumbai terror attacks that claimed nearly 200 lives.
The first song, Kitni Lambi Raat, stresses on how the nation is wreathed in the darkness of terror and the importance of conquering it. The other song focusses on motivating the youth to start an aggressive movement against terrorism.
Remind youth of responsibilities
The songs also condemn politicians who make terrorism a political issue rather than focussing on weeding it out.
"We are striving to make the songs as effective as possible as they are more focussed on movement rather than condolence," Dixit said.
"The songs are full of energy and stress the importance of youth in the movement against terrorism. Listening to such songs will remind the youth of their responsibilities and roles in the movement," he added.
Music and tech
Raghu Dixit's Ninna Poojege Bandhe Mahadeshwara from the Kannada movie Psycho was a hit. Now, Dixit's latest venture even before its release has drawn a lot of attention and appreciation as well.
"They are coming out effectively," said S Pemmaiah, Raghu Dixit's friend. "We hope this will serve the purpose of uniting the youth in the fight against terrorism."
