Youth makes film to empathise with disabled
By: Vivek Sabnis

Pune:

Pushkar Jog's debut film as a director, writer and actor attempts to make masses feel compassionately for those who are mentally and physically challenged

Mentally and physically challenged people are still considered a social stigma. In fact, those who are normal mostly victimise people with abnormalities. To show how difficult it is to lead a life with disabilities, Pushkar Jog has decided to make a film on the subject.

Satya More Than Human is a Marathi film, which attempts to create love and kindness in the minds of people for those who are not so lucky to lead a normal life. Jog has directed the film and has also written the script and screenplay for the same.

Jog, who has also acted in EMI and in Don't Worry Be Happy, is the protagonist of this film.

He plays the role of a boy who meets with an accident resulting in paralysis. His parents then decide to put him into an ashram. "My character is that of a boy suffering from Hemorrhagic Contusion," Jog said.

Producer of the film Suhas Jog said, "The film will be releasing on December 5 in Pune and Mumbai. We have also asked for special permission from the education minister Vasant Purke to screen this film in schools meant for handicapped children."

The cast of the film comprises Ravindra Mannkani, Mohan Joshi, Shrikant Moghe and Hritika Gondkar. The music is by Anand Modak and Sudhir Moghe has written the lyrics.
