After two days of flight delays, the Delhi airport was clear of fog on Friday morning, till 6 am. Visibility on the runway was 2,500 metres, said Met officials.
However, chaos prevailed on Thursday morning as more than 35 flights were delayed after dense fog engulfed the Capital. Only 83 flights operated till 11 am.
According to airport sources, a number of flights to several domestic destinations were rescheduled. Also, a Spice Jet flight from Mumbai to Delhi was diverted to Jaipur.
As visibility reduced to 300 metres, authorities of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) had to implement safeguard measures at 6 am. Runway Visibility Range (RVR) fell even below 200 metres after 7 am. The problem remained for about four hours.
