AT its farmhouses and hotel rooms this festive season, Delhi will resemble a bit of ancient Rome of wild yearend lovemaking and orgies. Guess where the girls are coming from?
Bollywood, where else.
With 26/11 terror attacks throwing a dark shroud over festivities in Mumbai, more starlets and models are flying to Delhi in to pleasure the Capital's slush-money-loaded politicians and businessmen at hotels and farmhouses.
The city's thriving escort services confirmed to MiD DAY that Mumbai's entertainment industry girls are being flown in for sex at astonishing fees.
"This is rush season. Delhi men are crazy about Bollywood girls. We have even flown some TV actresses and models down earlier this month and kept them in hotels so that we can show them to potential customers," said a person who said he was Rahul Trevedi from Adult Delhi Escorts.
He said the trafficking of Bollywood girls in Delhi had already shot by 30-40 per cent this season.
"We don't have any inputs on this," said Delhi police's Public Relations Officer Rajan Bhagat.
An assistant commissioner, requesting anonymity, said terror and drink-driving were topmost on the minds of the city police now. "Not high-class prostitution," he said. Torrid X-Mas, steamy New Year
Vivek Garg from SoulCast Escort Service, for instance, claimed that he had a Mumbai model, who had appeared on the cover of a national women's magazine, lined up for paid sex at a popular Chhatarpur farmhouse.
Her rate for two-three hours is Rs 25,000, excluding room charges, and Rs 50,000 for the whole day. But you have to book a girl at least a day in advance.
He said the rates for Bollywood models and starlets started at Rs 15,000 for a night, and that he would get to Delhi this New Year well-known Bollywood stars who charge up to Rs 3-4 lakh for a few hours.
Garg mailed MiD DAY his "catalogue" of young women, of whom he personally recommended a certain Mona Lisa, who he said had acted in some low-budget movies.
"Delhi is the market. Bureaucrats, politicians, middlemen, foreign investors... everybody comes to Delhi to get work done. And since Delhi's nightlife is almost non-existent, there is a huge demand for pleasure girls," said a Mumbai filmmaker, requesting anonymity. "Also, everybody in Delhi seems to conveniently have a farmhouse."
He said the other reason for more Bollywood girls going to Delhi this year was because after the terror attacks, celebrations were bound to be very subdued in Mumbai.
The trend, ironically, used to be opposite earlier when Mumbai's dance bars were open. The Air India night flight from Delhi to Mumbai would be full of wealthy men who would spend the night with high-class bar girls and prostitutes and return by the morning flight. He said Bollywood's cost of living often forced struggling girls to get into paid sex. "Even in a lead role, a newcomer gets Rs 5-10 lakh. Projects don't come easily. It's very difficult for upcoming actresses and models to survive in Mumbai," said the filmmaker. "Moreover, a one-bedroom flat in Andheri costs Rs 25,000 a month on rent. Grooming takes another Rs 40,000-50,000. Then they have to be seen at the right nightclubs and hotels to get work."
