Mumbai: Filmmaker Aditya Chopra, who directed blockbusters like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Mohabbatein, has filed a divorce petition before a family court in Mumbai by mutual consent with wife Payal Khanna.
The application, heard by Principal Judge Anand Nirgude about two months back, was kept pending for the mandatory six months granted to the couple to reconsider their decision.
The mandatory period required for Aditya, son of director Yash Chopra, and Payal, will get over in May.
The application has to be heard again after six months of filing the application for divorce by mutual consent. It will come up after this period is over but not later than 18 months after the filing of the same, said a source in the family court. |
