PERTH: Sourav Ganguly was a disturbed man yesterday. The news of being omitted from the tri-nation CB Series, from February 3, and a Twenty20 match left the former India captain shattered.
“I am shocked. Iss se jyaada bura kabhi nahi laga hai (I have never felt so bad before),” Dada told MiD DAY, when he received the news from his father in Kolkata.
Ganguly approached the selectors here Venkatapathy Raju and Ranjib Biswal on hearing the news. The selectors said he was dropped as the concentration was on youngsters.
The left-hander, who found it hard to digest the news, went for a long walk alone and then had coffee at a mall. He attended the team meeting later. “There is a great Test match to be played at Adelaide. I am looking forward to it,” he said.
