30 victims in 6 months...

Mumbai: Serial molester Ravi Verma, who has confessed to 100 victims, said he used the names of Bal Thackeray and various Mumbai police commissioners including A N Roy and D N Jadhav, to threaten girls, mostly college students.

In the last six months, he has molested more than 30 girls near the Airoli bridge.

Blackmail

Gajendragadkar on May 12, 2003, Verma introduced himself as a CBI officer and accused her of making obscene calls about Thackeray's and the commissioners' relatives. He told them that their bill for the calls was Rs 1.98 lakh. Sanjeevani was told to meet Verma at Mahape bridge with Rs 50,000 to settle the case.

She paid under duress as he said her husband would be arrested. 

A crime branch officer said that on Monday, after the police arrested Verma, the department was flooded with calls from Pune as he had been on their wanted list too.

Complaints

He extorted money and molested women by assuming the name of MTNL vigilance officer, A K Gupta. Verma has nine complaints registered against him in Thane, Dombivli and Navi Mumbai.
