With a view to fuel its expansion, Mumbai-based Jumbo King Foods has chalked-up a Rs. 75 crore investment over the next three-year period.
"We will invest around Rs 75 crore by 2011 for expansion that would include establishing franchisee stores, company-owned stores and kiosks," said Dheeraj Gupta, Jumbo King's Managing Director.
The retail chain also plans to expand by foraying into malls and establishing its presence in retail outlets, such as Reliance Fresh, More, Spencer and Big Bazaar, and others, through kiosks.
"We are importing the kiosks from China which cost around Rs 2,25,000 each and have plans to put up at least 280 such kiosks by 2011," Gupta said.
The company is also in talks with Indian Railways for putting up its stalls on railway stations.
"We also want to have a presence at airports," Gupta said.
Jumbo King is targeting a turnover of Rs 30 crore this fiscal and expects to up it to Rs 150 crore by 2011, Gupta said.
An overseas foray would, however, be through a joint venture, he said, adding "we plan to have an overseas presence in the next three years."
By March 2011, the company plans to have around 600 outlets pan-India, he said.
Presently, Jumbo King has its outlets at Mumbai, Thane, Ahmedabad, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara and Anand.
