Mumbai: Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray held a meeting of all Ganesh mandal groups at Shivaji Mandir, Dadar, on Sunday July 14.
Municipal Commisioner Jairaj Phatak, Mayor Shubha Raul, senior Sena leaders Manohar Joshi and Madhukar Sarpotdar were also present in the meeting.
In the meeting, he gave a clear indication that there will be no restriction to the heights of the idols.
Recently Mayor Shubha Raul had commented that the heights of the idols should be reduced.
She had also emphasized that the celebrations should be handled in an eco friendly manner.
Uddhav Thacekray said that a meeting will be called again after the Ganesh festivals and various ways and means will be sought to celebrate it in an eco-friendly manner.
